J&E Hall was established in 1785 in England as a manufacturer of iron works products such as steam engines and gun carriages.  In the 1880s it began producing refrigeration machinery, lifts and escalators.  In 1881, Hall patented horizontal dry refrigeration machinery for use on ships and this became the primary product for the company. After many mergers and acquisitions over the decades, Hall is now owned by the Japanese conglomerate Daikin Industries Ltd. While the factory is no longer in production, offices are still maintained there.

J&E Hall works with customers in the marine, chemical, petrochemical, pharmaceutical, brewing, beverage and food processing industries. Their industrial design services assist clients with every stage of the project using a variety of refrigerants for every situation.  Special chiller packages and upstream and downstream packages can be installed as a single solution package from start to finish.
