Nortek Global HVAC (previously Nordyne) began in St. Louis in 1919 as the International Oil Heating Company which made oil burners for home heating to reduce the extreme pollution of the city.  After achieving success in St. Louis, International Oil began marketing their kits to the rest of the United States.  Eventually, the company would go on to produce furnaces, central air conditioning systems, pilot light wind tunnel testing machines and other HVAC equipment. Nortek Global headquarters are located in O’Fallon, MO.

Nortek currently manufactures Frigidaire, Maytag, Broan and Nutone residential HVAC brands.  The commercial products are manufactured as the Mammoth and Reznor brands.
