Old heat exchangers can be dangerous!

We routinely run into heating systems that need a new heat exchanger.  Heat exchangers are the combustion chamber in gas furnaces and cracks or holes in this component can allow dangerous levels of carbon monoxide gas to leak into your home.  It’s important that your furnace inspected regularly because moisture in the gas causes these components to deteriorate over time and, when a heat exchangers goes bad, it can happen fast.

We found this bad heat exchanger at a customer’s home during a routine maintenance visit.  We put in a new heat exchanger for this customer and now they are warm, cozy, and safe!
